He was granted the title of associate professor in 1990 and professor in 2009 at School of Medicine, Istanbul Bilim University.
Held offices of Secretary General, Deputy Chairman and Board Member at Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery.
Holds Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon Certificate, Fellow Certificate from Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgeon Certificate and fellow certificate from European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons.
Member of Turkish Society of Cardiology, European Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery (ISMICS), Turkish Association of Vascular Surgery, European Society of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Turkish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery.
He authored 119 articles that are published in scientific journals.

Principal areas of clinical interest:
- Coronary artery surgery,
- Valve replacement and repair,
- Minimally invasive and robot-assisted cardiac surgery,
- Aortic aneurysm and dissection,
- Peripheral vessel surgery,
- Transcatheter interventions (TAVI, EVAR, TEVAR…),
- Congenital cardiac surgery (including complex repairs and surgery of congenital heart diseases in adulthood).
