Prof. Semih Barlas, M.D.

Cardiovascular Surgery

Prof. Semih Barlas, M.D., worked with Leslie Hamilton, B. Sethia and Colin J. Hilton during his residency education on pediatric heart surgery and arrhythmia surgery in England.
He carried out the first arrhythmia surgery in Turkey.
He founded and administrated the Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery Department of the German Hospital.
He studied modern diagnosis and treatments of venous diseases in various centers of the Europe.
He studied diagnosis and treatments of varicose veins in Morrison Vein Institute, the U.S., and New York University jointly by Nick Morrison, BB Lee, Lowell Kabnick and Todd Berland.
He focused on treatment of varicose veins since 2008. He ensured that American Hospital and MedAmerican Medical Center are regarded among the most crowded and successful centers of Turkey in this field.
Completed Fellowship of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery in 2011.
Deputy Head and Member of Board in International College of Angiology
Member of European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (FEACTS title), International College of Angiology (FICA title), Turkish Society for Cardiovascular Surgery, Organ Transplantation Centers Coordination Association and Society of Thoracic Surgeons (FSTS title).
