Prof. Yasemin Özdemir, M.D.

Neurology

Between 2001-2004, she conducted her postdoctoral research at Harvard University.
In 2000, she received a Fulbright scholarship and in 2001 a fellowship from the International Brain Research Organization.
In 2005, she won the TÜBA GEBİP (The Young Scientists Award Programme) Award and in 2006 the Eczacıbaşı Medical Incentive Award.
In 2007, she won Güven Hospital 1st Aysun Temizel Science Award
In 2008, she was awarded a TÜBİTAK incentive award.
Between 2004-2014, she worked at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology and also at Hacettepe University, Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry. Here, she took part in the structuring of the Basic Neurological Sciences doctoral program. Between 2011-2014, she served as the Deputy Director of the same institute.
Since 2014, she has been working at Koç University, Faculty of Medicine. Here, she took part in the establishment of the Department of Neurology at Koç University Hospital.
Since 2017, she has been the Director of Institute of Health Sciences at Koç University.
She is currently a member of the board of directors of the Neuroscience Society of Turkiye.
She is a referee for European Union and TÜBİTAK projects.
