A condition in which high levels of a hormone cause the body to retain water.

In this condition, the body retains water instead of passing it through the urine. This upsets the body's balance of minerals called electrolytes, especially sodium.

Symptoms include nausea and vomiting, headache, confusion, weakness, and fatigue.

Treatments include limiting fluid intake and, possibly, medicines to adjust electrolyte balance. Underlying conditions also need treatment.
