Supervision of Pregnancy

Supervision of pregnancy covers the period ranging from the conception to the end of puerperium. Our experienced team fulfils your physical and emotional needs to help you experience this special period in peace and safety and supervises all details meticulously and carefully while preparing you and your baby for your new lives.

Briefly, supervision of pregnancy consists of following stages: Determining the gestational age; evaluating health of the mother and the baby; creating a suitable care plan for the pregnant; performing necessary screening tests and ultrasounds; predicting and preventing the potential problems during pregnancy; diagnosing the problem as soon as possible after a problem develops; and carrying out regular follow-up examinations to submit the suitable management plan to the family in collaboration with the perinatology team.
Both normal and high-risk pregnancies are supervised at Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic on the first floor of our hospital.

Mothers are provided with postpartum care and breastfeeding support after the birth. Postpartum depression screening is meticulously performed by our team in cooperation with a psychologist, when necessary.

Delivery Room

A special delivery room equipped with modern devices is available on the 3rd floor of our hospital. Labor monitoring and delivery procedure are performed for the pregnant patients in this room. Therefore, it is not necessary to transfer the expectant mother to another room during delivery. Only one pregnant woman is admitted to our single rooms that are approximately 40 square meters and have a private bathroom and toilet. Both high-risk and low-risk pregnant women can be supervised and treated near their families in our rooms where all details are planned in advance for a peaceful and safe delivery.

The patients hospitalized for delivery are supervised and monitored using modern methods by our midwife team in close cooperation with relevant physician. In addition to conventional delivery monitoring during delivery under epidural analgesia, we may perform other modalities to assist the labor and delivery such as respiratory exercises, massage, acupressure, aromatherapy, phytotherapy, homeopathy, hot and cold pack applications, birthing ball and pushing position.

The entire team primarily targets spontaneous vaginal delivery, where unnecessary episiotomy is avoided at maximum extent, under epidural analgesia (pain-controlled delivery). Movements and eating habits of pregnant women are not restricted in the delivery process and certain procedures are avoided, such as enema.

We care for physical contact between the baby and the mother after delivery as a “Baby- and Mother-Friendly Hospital” and we promote breastfeeding as soon as possible after the birth in order to assure communication between the mother and the baby. The pediatrician member of our team performs the initial care and examinations of the newborn infant next to the mother after the first contact between the mother and the baby in the delivery room.

We cooperate with cord blood banks licensed by the Ministry of Health for the families who request that cord blood and umbilical cord of the baby are stored after the birth.

Our delivery has another very significant advantage, as it is located next to the neonatal intensive care unit. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit equipped with all modern means is one of the most assertive units in our country
