OUR DOCTORS Defne Özkoca, M.D. Dermatology REQUEST AN APPOINTMENT Dr Özkoca has visited the University of California San Francisco Dermatopathology Department as a research fellow on 2016. She has completed her medical training at Koç University School of Medicine, ranking as the valedictorian on 2017. She has attended the Euroderm Excellence Dermatology Program amongst the chosen residents from Europe and has ranked the 3rd place at the end of the course on 2020. Her dermatology speciality thesis “The comparison of demographics and comorbidities of female pattern hair loss according to the clinical subtype and stage” was published in one of the world’s most prestigious dermatology journals, Journal of American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD), on 2021 as soon as she completed her residency. She has been invited to and has attended the Advanced Euroderm Excellence Program on 2022. She has passed successfully the European Board of Dermatology and Venerology on 2022. She has obtained the Turkish Dermatology Society Certificate of Competency on 2022. She is a member of European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), International Dermoscopy Society, Türk Dermatoloji Derneği, Deri ve Zührevi Hastalıklar Derneği, Estetik ve Kozmetik Dermatoloji Derneği, Kozmetoloji ve Dermatoloji Akademisi Derneği, TDD Acne and Rosacea Working Group, TDD Nail Diseases Working Group. She has published many articles and has been cited in the internationally indexed journals. She has authored English and Turkish book chapters. Principal areas of clinical interest: Hair and Scalp Disorders, Nail Disorders, Cosmetic Dermatology, Dermatopathology, Dermatoscopy, Pediatric Dermatology, Acne and Rosacea, Laser and Energy Based Devices, General Dermatology.
