Admission Procedure


Located at the ground floor, the Patient Admission Office welcomes patients between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. on weekdays, 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Sundays. 

You can visit the office between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on national and religious holidays. Patient admissions are carried out at the Emergency Service desk outside these time intervals. 

Our team may request the following to proceed with your admission: 
  • Identity card or driver’s license (T.R. identity number)
  • Passport for patients who are not T.R. citizens
  • Medical records or documents
  • Insurance card, insurance approval form completed by your physician and info note on treatment expenditures for patients who wish to benefit from a private health insurance.

Your comfort matters to us.

All private rooms have been designed with patients and their companions in mind.

Each room has a private bathroom and restroom. National and international TV channels are available on the televisions found in our rooms. 
 
Internet access is available all around our hospital, including ward rooms. In case you experience connection problems, you may ask our nurses for support. 

A electronic safe, where you can keep your cash or valuable documents/belongings, is found in your wardrobe.


Meal Service:

All meals served at our hospital are prepared under supervision of dietitians. Menus tailored for each patient are also arranged and served in accordance with diet programs established by our dietitians. Meals served to companions are free of charge. 

We kindly request that patients do not have meals other than the menus set up in accordance with your treatment. Meals for both you and your companion are served to your room at predetermined times, and empty utensils are collected whenever it is convenient for you. Meals are served to your room at the times specified below. If you would like to have your meal at another time, please inform your nurse accordingly. 
  • Breakfast: 07:30 - 08:30
  • Lunch: 13:00 - 14:00
  • Dinner: 19:00 - 20:00
     
Throughout your hospital stay, you are advised to have a companion. Your companion’s meals and accommodation are included in your room charge. Companion beds are set up by housekeepers after dinner time. If you do not have a companion and you have a high risk of falling, please remember to inform your nurse for necessary arrangements.
 

VISITOR REGULATIONS

In order to ensure the comfort of our patients and protect their health, receiving more than one companion or any visitor -unless necessary- in ward rooms has been prohibited since the beginning of the pandemic.

The preauthorization process for outpatient treatment may vary among different insurance providers. In order to make sure that inpatient/outpatient insurance procedures with contract insurance firms are completed as fast and correctly as possible, please e-mail KUHKoordinasyon@kuh.ku.edu.tr  for matters you would like to learn more about.

The preauthorization process for outpatient/inpatient treatment of patients with national insurance coverage is carried out by each polyclinic. A preauthorization can be obtained prior to initiating planned hospitalization or other services. Even if your insurance provider may have a contract with our hospital, your coverage may vary in accordance with different hospitals and services. We would like to kindly request that you be mindful about this matter.
 
You are recommended to contact your insurance provider to find out about your policy coverage and which procedures/practices are included in your policy.
