The healthcare system as we know it will not remain sustainable with a 25 year-old technology and mindset. It is bound to be possible for the majority of cases to be resolved at outpatient diagnostic and treatment centers in the years to come. Small regional centers with a low bed capacity will stand out for management of chronic diseases. The agenda of the upcoming decade will be determined by treatment algorithms customized for each patient and digital transformation in healthcare. University hospitals will require multiple branches to be involved in treatment processes, assume a leading role in diagnosis and treatment of complex and rare diseases, and serve as hubs where promising methods are proven in trials to raise new hope for the next generations. Founded in 2014, Koç University Hospital aspires to offer the most up-to-date diagnostic and treatment services at North American standards through the lens of this vision.

Research laboratories and the clinical research unit are situated right in core Koç University Hospital. We would like to ensure that Koç University Hospital stands proud as a reference center not only for our country, but also for the Middle East, Balkans and Caucasus region particularly in the fields of oncology, neurological sciences, infectious diseases, circulatory and respiratory conditions and surgical intervention. In line with this objective, national and international phase 1-4 drug studies are conducted at Koç University Translational Medicine Research Center, the one and only high-risk clinical drug research center of Turkey.

Koç University Hospital considers it a mission to train qualified personnel to be employed in national healthcare services, and hosts clinical education, practice and research processes for this purpose at Koç University School of Medicine and Nursing School. Established in order to ensure acquisition of advanced skills among our medical staff members as well as medical and nursing students, Rahmi M. Koç Advanced Interventional Medicine, Education and Simulation Center (RMK AIMES) and the Objectively Structured Clinical Examination Center (OSCE) conduct studies for evaluation of clinical competence. The most complex operations and interventions are performed by use of cutting-edge technological equipment at the Advanced Robotic and Endoscopic Surgery Center (ARIES), where employees of Vehbi Koç Foundation Healthcare Institutions and external participants are trained in utilization of these technologies.
