Prof. Eftal Güdemez, M.D.

Orthopedics and Traumatology

He was educated at Hand Surgery Clinic under supervision of Prof. Ayan Gülgönen, M.D. at American Hospital in 1995-1996.
He studied microsurgery at Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1997 and 1998.
He received the Best Paper Award in 1998. (“Effect of Decompression and DHEA Treatment on Functional Recovery of Sciatic Nerve,” Proc 41^st Annual Meeting of the Ohio Valley Society for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Farmington, 25, Farmington, PA, USA, 1998. Best Paper Award)
He was accepted to Mobile Training Program of American Association for Hand Surgery in 2005.
He was certified by European Board of Hand Surgery in 2010 and by Ministry of Health as Hand Surgeon in 2011.
He was Training Coordinator of Musculoskeletal System for 5^th Grade students in School of Medicine, Koç University from 2013 to 2017.
He was Coordinator for 5^th Grade students in School of Medicine, Koç University from 2017 to 2019.
He is still Residency Education Program Coordinator at the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology in School of Medicine, Koç University.
He authored more than forty articles published in renowned international journals.
He has lectured and presented papers in more than 50 international congresses.

- Wrist Surgery (wrist fractures, TFCC problems),
- Hand fractures,
- Congenital hand disorders,
- Tendon transfer,
- Peripheral nerve surgery.
