About Training Career About Head of Medical Genetics Department at School of Medicine, Koç University and Supervisor Physician of Genetic Diseases Diagnosis (Evaluation) Center of Koç University Hospital. She was granted the title “Associate Professor” in 2000 and “Professor” in 2009. She worked at various organizations abroad (UCLA, Cedar Sinai, LA-USA; Cardiff University, the U.K.; Academisch Medisch Centrum & Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands) as post-doctorate researcher and academician from 1993 to 2007. She is still member of our country’s delegations to the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) and human genetics committees (ESHG-PPPC). She authored more than 200 papers published in international journals and more than 15 book chapters. She has experience in molecular dysmorphology/syndromology and neurogenetic and prenatal genetic in the field of the clinical genetic. She and her team conduct studies to clarify the genetic ethiopathogenesis of rare craniofascial dysmoprhic syndromes and limb malformations. She was the Manager of the Türkiye – Istanbul Group of the CRANIRARE AND CRANIRARE2 (ERA-Net for research programs for rare diseases; multinational cooperation consortiums; 2008-2016) projects that are funded by the 7th Frame Programs of the European Union and principally investigate the Frontonasal Dysplasia and Moebius Syndrome.
