He subsequently completed his cardiology residency at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy from 2012 to 2016. Between 2017 and 2018, Dr. Gürsoy played a pioneering role in the establishment and operational launch of the Coronary Angiography Laboratory at Yozgat City Hospital. Since 2019, he has been serving as an interventional cardiologist at Koç University Hospital, where he continues to contribute to advanced cardiovascular treatments and procedural excellence. In recognition of his academic achievements, Dr. Gürsoy has received several honors, including the “Best Presentation Award” and an “International Education Grant” from the Turkish Heart and Health Foundation. Supported by this grant, he completed advanced training in 2023 at the Heart and Diabetes Center NRW (affiliated with Ruhr University Bochum, Germany), focusing on structural heart interventions. His training included minimally invasive valve procedures such as TAVR, TMVR, TTVR, MitraClip, TriClip, and Cardioband. In 2025, at the invitation of Prof. Dr. Valentin Fuster -past president of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, and the World Heart Federation- Dr. Gürsoy joined the Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York, where he further enhanced his experience in advanced cardiac interventions. Dr. Gürsoy has performed over 15,000 diagnostic coronary angiographies and more than 5,000 interventional procedures, including coronary and peripheral angioplasty, percutaneous coronary interventions, and structural heart therapies. He is also an active academic, having authored four book chapters, published more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, and presented extensively at national and international scientific meetings.
