Prof. Erol Tülümen, M.D.

Cardiology

He did an “Electrophysiology Fellowship” in-between 2011 – 2014 at University Medical Center Mannheim, Heidelberg University, Germany.
Between 2019 and 2022, he worked as an “Oberarzt” (senior consultant) at University Medical Center Mannheim, Heidelberg University, Germany.
He was awarded the title “Associate Professor” in 2016.
He has become EHRA certified electrophysiology specialist (Level 2) in 2016.
He obtained the certificate for Special Rhythmology of the German Society of Cardiology (DGK) in 2018.
He is a member of the Turkish Society of Cardiology, German Society of Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology Association, European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA)
He is an associated editor of “Anadolu Kardiyoloji Dergisi” since 2021.
He has authored more than 50 articles published in local and international journals, 5 book chapters in various cardiology books.

Principal areas of clinical interest:
- Diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias. Medical and interventional (i.e. ablation) treatment of supraventricular arrhythmias (AVNRT or AVRT), atrial tachycardias, atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, ventricular premature beats, ventricular tachycardias.
- Diagnosis and treatment of genetic/familial arrhythmia syndromes (Brugada Syndrome, long QT syndrome, short QT syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia, early repolarization syndrome),
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other rare cardiomyopathies,
- Sudden cardiac death,
- Syncope (fainting),
- Device therapies: Implantation and follow-up of Pacemakers, Implantation and follow-up of ICDs (implantable cardioverter defibrillator) and S-ICD (subcutaneous implantable cardioverter defibrillator), device therapy for heart failure, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy (CRT).
