Prof. Pınar Fırat, M.D. Pathology Received cytopathology education in 1990-1996 at Southwest Regional Cytology Training Center in the UK, Indiana University-Center of Medicine, Department of Cytopathology in the USA, and Karolinska Institute’s Department of Clinical Cytology in Switzerland. Attained the title of associate professor in 2002 and professor in 2007. Under the Geraldine C. Zeiler scholarship, attended Mayo Clinic in the USA as an observer in pulmonary pathology in 2009. Has over 70 articles published on international journals; authored chapters in national and international books; and edited one international book. Undertook the positions of head of the “European Society of Pathology- Cytopathology Working Group” in 2006-2010; head of “Turkish Thoracic Society and Federation of Pathology Associations, Pulmonary Pathology Working Group” in 2010-2012; chairperson of the “Turkish Society of Cytopathology” in 2014-2016; and Board Member of “Federation of Pathology Associations”.
