Tumor navigation in robotic prostate cancer surgery adopted for the first time in Turkey

Tumor navigation in cases of prostate cancer encompasses 3D reconstruction of MRI and PET/CT images, which are then utilized as a guide for surgeons during robotic operations. In order for this technique to be practiced, the departments of urology, radiology, nuclear medicine and engineer are required to prepare in coordination.

Practiced by Prof. A. Erdem Canda, M.D., and his urology team, the technique was awarded 3rd place at the European Robotic Urology Section. The relevant scientific article was published on the British Journal of Urology International Compass.
