Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant Unit has 10 beds and is located in P-Block 3rd floor. The stem cell processing and freezing laboratory, apheresis unit and blood bank departments are also located on the same floor. A special ventilation system with HEPA-filters is used throughout the ward, protecting patients against airborne germs. The patient's room can be accessed through two doors after the corridor. When one of these doors is open, the other is not. In this way, room air and corridor air do not mix with each other as much as possible.

In addition to doctors and nurses, specialists from different departments such as clinical psychologists, art therapists, dieticians, physiotherapists contribute to the treatments.

The patient is often accompanied by his/her parents and no visitors are allowed to protect the patient from infections.

Pediatric stem cell (bone marrow) transplantation is used as a therapeutic method for many non-cancerous, congenital or acquired diseases as well as cancer diseases.
