About Training Career About Graduated from İstanbul University - İstanbul School of Medicine in 1997, completed education for specialization in General Surgery in 2002 at the same school. Took part in the Colorectal Surgery clinical research fellowship program at Columbia University (New York, USA) in 2004-2005. Has been a professor of General Surgery at Koç University School of Medicine since 2016 and the head of the department of General Surgery since 2019. Elected as the chairman of the Turkish Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery for 2026-2028, and also chairman of the ISUCRS (International Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery) for 2028-2030. International fellow of ASCRS and board certified by European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP). Has numerous international scientific publications in the fields of colorectal surgery, gastric cancer surgery and minimally invasive surgery.
