Coagulopathy often happens to people who have severe injuries. But surgeries, some diseases and some medicines also can cause it. The condition causes bleeding and increases the risk of death.
Coagulopathy results in major bleeding. The condition makes it hard to stop the bleeding.
Treatment involves urgent hospital care. It aims at getting blood to clot again. Treatment might involve clotting factor or fresh frozen plasma transfusions or vitamin K shots.
