A condition that causes inflammation of the blood vessels.

Formerly called Wegener's granulomatosis, this condition can affect the ears, nose, throat, lungs and kidneys. It slows blood flow to organs and tissues, causing damage.

Symptoms may include sinus pain and drainage, cough, fever, joint pain, blood in urine, and vision and hearing problems.

Treatments include drugs that suppress the immune system and monitoring for recurring symptoms.
