A part of the department of Otorhinolaryngology, our Audiology unit is a national reference center for hearing tests, especially for infants and children. The unit addresses evaluation and rehabilitation of hearing, vertigo, treatment of tinnitus, hearing screening for neonates and advanced hearing investigations.
Our team continuously keeps track of the most recent advancements in the field, presents novel applications to patients, and stands out with studies concentrating on the vestibular system, which is also known as the system in charge of sense of balance. The vestibular unit is capable of performing ENG, VNG, air and water caloric tests, positional tests, maneuvers and VEMP tests. Additionally, vestibular rehabilitation applications are available.
A team of highly competent specialists at the audiology unit perform surgical interventions for cochlear and other acoustic implants (electroacoustic implant, bone-anchored hearing aids, middle ear implants etc.).
Neonatal Hearing Screening
Not only all auditory tests for adults and children (VRA, COR, play audiometry) are performed at our unit, but also neonatal hearing screening tests are carried out using the most precise instruments available. This enables a complete and reliable evaluation of hearing capability of newborns before they are 6 months old by use of internationally recognized instruments.
